In the tasting room, we have heard people compare our Grenache to Pinot Noir because of its elegance and vibrant red fruit. While it’s true they share that same ethereal, silky texture, we think the Horse Heaven Hills adds a layer of complexity. Once you catch that signature white pepper and baking spice finish from the Spice Cabinet Vineyard, you realize this wine is in a category all its own.

The 2023 vintage was a bit of a balancing act. After a warm summer that gave us intense fruit concentration, the weather cooled down just in time for harvest. This allowed the fruit to stay on the vine a little longer, letting those peppery aromatics develop without the sugars getting ahead of us. After aging for 17 months in oak, the wine has come together with a beautiful balance of stewed strawberries and savory, herbaceous notes.

While we're honored it took home a Platinum Medal at the Great Northwest Wine Competition, we're mostly just proud of how well it represents this specific, wind-swept corner of the Columbia River.

  • Vineyard: Spice Cabinet (Horse Heaven Hills AVA)

  • Aging: 17 months in French & American oak

  • Style: Medium-bodied, elegant, and spicy

  • Award: Platinum Medal - Great Northwest Wine Competition

Our Favorite Pairings:
Because of its bright acidity and subtle "savory" edge, this is an incredibly versatile food wine. It’s our go-to for grilled lambsmoky BBQ, or even a spiced Mediterranean tagine. On a warm afternoon, don’t be afraid to give it a slight chill to let those bright cherry notes really pop.
