Our signature Mediterranean-style blend honors the classic varieties of northern Spain’s famed Rioja region. The Spaniard opens with enticing aromas of warm vanilla bean and ripe cherry, giving way to a plush, balanced palate layered with dark plum, juicy raspberry, and subtle oak spice.
The Blend: 50% Tempranillo (Crawford Vineyard, Yakima Valley), 50% Grenache (Mercer Canyon, Horse Heaven Hills)
Harvest & Aging: Harvested mid-September at 24° Brix; fermented in small open-top fermenters and aged 21 months in American oak (25% new)
Cellaring: Delicious and approachable now, with the depth to cellar gracefully over the next 4 to 6 years
